Bio: The Story
Inventive Wellness has emerged over many years, interweaving many threads of study and practice, both formal and informal. I won’t be able to tell the whole story here, but to keep a long story short…
I was heading into the 7th year of a PhD program in Counseling Psychology, which was supposed to be the final year, when I became ill with COVID and subsequently experienced worsening chronic illness symptoms, specifically what appears to be Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS). While so many of my plans and so many aspects of my health fell apart, I became even more intimately acquainted with the very basics of what wellness entails – emotionally, spiritually, physiologically, and interpersonally. While this was all incredibly disruptive to my life path, I’ve been granted the opportunity to get creative with my career as it is literally all my body can handle. Luckily, the support and training I have had over the years have helped me to develop skillsets that allow for restorative and nourishing ways of relating to self, others, the natural world, and our complex sociocultural landscape. Inventive Wellness is my practice of sharing that wisdom with you on your own journey.
